Clue Poem
I am oval shaped like a lemon
I’m used in a team
You can run and kick with me
You play with me on the field
You throw me to another person
You put me on the ground
The All Blacks use me

Great playhouse show for us!

We were the audience for the show "The Fairest of Them All". They came to our hall and set up with the story map backdrop and cool costumes. The characters were Snow White, the Prince, the Magic Mirror and the Internet Troll. They sang, danced and acted for us. We clapped and cheered for them! We love watching shows.

When we came back to school after the holidays, we drew story maps with roads and places we had been to. Then we talked to our learning buddies about what we had drawn. Lots of us went to the park, the pools, the Plaza and played at home. Mrs Spall was pleased to see us all back at school!
Key Competencies: Using language, symbols and text; Relating to Others.

Statistics for Maths

We are learning to ask a survey question, write a tally chart and then make a block graph using the information. We can group things if they are the same.
We asked people in our class about what mask they liked the best for our Inquiry topic- PrEP. Then we asked our buddy class what they liked because they were older. They liked different things to us.
Look at our block graphs we made using the information we gathered!

Masks for Market Day (PrEP)

For our Inquiry this term we have been learning about saving "Westie" money, and making and selling things.
We decided to make masks for market day.  We had to colour and paint our masks.

When the masks were dry we had to carefully cut them out so that we could decorate them with glitter, feathers and sparkly things. We chose to make butterfly, cat and dragon masks.

Look at some of the great masks we made. How much would you pay for a cool handmade mask?

The first week back at school we had a leaf fight and made leaf mountains for letter "Ll" and Autumn. We wrote a leaf list poem with Mrs Spall and collected lovely leaves for a leaf picture. You can see them outside our classroom.
On the first Wednesday back at school we went on a bus down to the Globe Theatre to watch the puppet show "Guji Guji". It was about an egg that became a crocodile but lived with a family of ducks. Guji Guji looked after his family. His brothers were called Crayon, Zebra and Moonlight. He had a Mother Duck who taught him to swim. We all liked the bus ride because we could see heaps out of the window!

Term 2 so far: This week we have been learning about letter Dd for our alphabet work. We had a "dinosaur dig" in the sandpit. We found most of the dinosaurs but one is still missing.  It was fun. We also had a look at dinosaur pictures on Google and thought of some white hat facts. We draw dinosaur pictures and did some writing too. We made a dinosaur book to read in class!
